Whatcom Co. Super Coffee Sampler $95
It is no secret that we love our coffee here in the Pacific Northwest, and given the number of small roasters around it just seemed natural to put together the ultimate coffee lover’s tote.
We include 5 different coffees, 1/2 lb each, all freshly roasted by a variety of Whatcom County roasters including:
Lone Madrona Blend coffee blended and roasted specially for Gifts in the Bag by Guadalupe’s Coffee Roaster. This is a sweet mellow full-bodied coffee, predominantly from Mexico, that is both fair trade and organically grown. We also include Guadalupe’s popular Day of the Dead which has richness, body, as well as excellent flavor and intensity. All of Guadalupe’s coffees are certified organic and fair trade.
We are excited to be working with one of this area's newest roasters, Hammerhead Coffee. Scott of Hammerhead roasts only certified organic and fair trade coffees from around the world and he donates a portion of each order to charity. We are currently using their Farmer's Market Blend which we enjoy while working at the Ferndale Farmer's Market. The fourth coffee in this super sampler comes from Mt. Baker Coffee Roasters, this is an estate coffee grown on the roaster’s family farm in Panama. You can read about the attention to detail and quality used Torcaza Estate in order to grow this superb estate coffee.
We round this out with a Decaf from Bellingham’s newest roaster, Maniac, from the owners of the Black Drop Coffeehouse. Once you taste this organically grown, naturally processed Ethiopian Sidamo you will never look at decaf the same way again. This is a huge full bodied nutty brew that will satisfy the pickiest coffee connoisseur even if they’ve been pulled kicking and screaming from their daily caffeine dose.
What better way to enjoy a freshly brewed cup of joe or a shot of espresso than with tasty biscotti. There is a baker in Bellingham who has re-written the book on biscotti. We have, after much difficulty, chosen 6 flavors out of the 21 available from Kyoung at Rainy Days Kitchen and put together a12 piece sampler box just for this tote. Each kind is more unique, flavorful, wonderful and softer than traditional biscotti. For example, the Lemon Drop is like biting into a slice of lemon meringue pie, you can taste the meringue, lemon, and crust all mixed together in each mouth watering bite, and I swear my knees went weak the first time I bit into the Mint Chocolate Medley.
We top this off with 2 skillfully hand crafted coffee mugs created by local potters, including Milbrook Clayworks and One Heron Pond. Because these are all handmade each mug is uniquely beautiful and one of a kind.
